Belarusian universities will have a chance to participate in R&D projects of the University of Bologna. The matter was discussed at a meeting between Belarus’ Ambassador to Italy Alexander Guryanov and University of Bologna Rector Francesco Ubertini, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission.
The ambassador and the rector of the oldest and one of the leading universities in Europe reached an agreement to expand inter-university cooperation, hold meetings at the level of rectors of the University of Bologna and higher educational institutions of Belarus. The parties also worked out an algorithm to join the implementation of joint research projects, the embassy said.
During the official visit to Emilia-Romagna, Italy, Alexander Guryanov also met with Vice President of the region Elisabetta Gualmini to discuss the prospects for expanding interregional cooperation in the economic, humanitarian and tourism sectors, and also the possibility to conclude an agreement on cooperation between Gomel Oblast and Emilia-Romagna Region, the exchange of visits between officials and businessmen.
Alexander Guryanov also met with Director General of the Confederation of Italian Industries of Emilia Romagna Luca Rossi to outline approaches to develop business contacts and exchange visits between business delegations, organize presentations of the potential of trade and economic cooperation with Belarus for representatives of the interested companies of the region.
Taking part in the talks was also Honorary Consul of Belarus to Emilia-Romagna Antonio Sottile.
